The Integrated Genomics Facility consists of three state-of-the-art units: Molecular Biology and Sequencing, Histopathology and Bioinformatics and represents a new scientific reality in Southern Italy in the field of molecular diagnostics in the oncological field, offering on site the same diagnostic services currently available in other realities outside the territory.
Our researchers have implemented, in a short time, experimental protocols and innovative methods, which make available to your needs (research projects and services). In particular, the molecular biology unit boasts the development of protocols aimed at the analysis of cfDNA, obtained from liquid biopsy. .
The use of state-of-the-art equipment and constant refinement of protocols allows us to offer services with high standards of quality and innovation. In addition, our team of bioinformaticians is supported by tools in the field of Artificial Intelligence, to offer solutions in line with advanced technological development.
The Molecular Biology group provides expertise in various fields of application: nucleic acid extraction from different matrices, ddPCR and various types of sequencing (customised gene panels, Lowpass WGS, WES, WGS, total RNA-Seq, mRNA Seq, TCR-Seq, 16S Metagenomic Seq, ATAC-Seq, genome-wide methylation profiling).
The Bioinformatics unit provides pipelines for the analysis of data produced by all sequencing workflows. In addition, it provides its expertise for the implementation and development of customised pipelines.
Finally, the Histopathology unit offers services for slide preparation and staining, image digitisation and laser-capture microdissection.
Developing new protocols, refining previously protocols, and updating our skills and knowledge represent daily challenges that enable us to keep up with scientific progress in biotechnology and ensure reliability and reproducibility of data.
We perform quality control at every stage of the workflow and constantly update procedures and protocols to achieve the best experimental outcome.
